There's something about not having any academic responsibilities that makes me actually want to read for fun! I've bought books over the years and never actually had the desire to read them, but this summer I've actually decided to pick them up. So now I'm sharing all the books I've read lately!
I will say that none of these books are brand new, but if you're just looking for something fun to read, this list may be for you!
Books I've Read Lately

I love fun, lighthearted books like this with the right amount of drama 😂. This is the second book from the Crazy Rich Asians series, and I finished this book quickly! It's a great summer read.
2. The After Party by Anton DiSclafani

Reading this book was like eating a piece of candy! I love books set in the 50s or 60s, and the addition of Texas glamor made me finish it in 3 days. And again, it had the right amount of drama. Some parts did drag out a little, but I was still hooked to see what would happen at the end.
3. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

I don't normally read mystery/thriller type books, but this one originally caught my eye because it felt like trying to figure out a puzzle. There are so many twists in this book, so it's way more than your average mystery.
4. The House Girl by Tara Conklin

This book is told in two different point of views, one in modern-day New York, and the other in 1850s Virginia. I love stories with two different point of views, but this book was more about seeking both justice and truth. I was hooked until the end!
5. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I'm sure everyone has heard about this book by now, and I waited to read this until I knocked down some of my to be read list. It was worth the wait and the hype! It was also nothing of what I was expecting, but in the absolute best way. And I love that it was set in the 50s!

I love this post, I’m definitely adding these to my “to be read” list! Dystopian, fantasy, and romance are my 3 favorite genres right now. I just finished the selection series. It’s like mix between the bachelor and the hunger games, it’s by far my favorite series of all time!
Wait that sounds good!!
