Hi friends! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done one of these posts. I’ve been eying so many things in the last month or so, so it’s time to talk about it.
First up, IT FINALLY SNOWED🥹. I don't think anyone understands how much this meant to me. I'm sure this much won't come back for a number of years, so I tried to soak it all in. If spring doesn't come for a while, I will be fine.

Reading
I actually finished a book in the month of January, which is amazing for me.😂 I am determined to read so many books this year. The Davenports was a cute YA historical fiction romance that kept me engrossed enough to want to read the second book.
I am currently reading both The Love Songs of W. E. B Du Bois and Before I Let Go. Love Songs is the exact type of book I love: Family drama, generational drama and a long, detailed story!
Everyone who has read Before I Let Go has said to get ready for a roller coaster. I also love good mess, so I’m excited to get through that story.

I've gone through my bookshelf and got rid of books I really don't need anymore. I want my bookshelf to be full of books I am absolutely obsessed with, or books by Black authors. I went to Barnes and Noble this past weekend and picked up two books! The Mayor of Maxwell Street has been on my TBR for a while now, and seems like an amazing story.
I read A Lesson Before Dying in high school, and I still remember how that story stuck with me. A great addition to the shelf!
Watching and Listening
Prepare to be annoyed, the full trailer for Michael came out! I truly can’t wait to see it, but I’m also scared for all the emotions this movie will bring out. I think the trailer is absolutely incredibleee. The Academy can go ahead and hand those Oscars out.
I know as soon as the move comes out, there will be a plethora of new fans, which is amazing. I wanted to fully prepare myself by having all the memorabilia I want before the prices go up or sell out completely😂. My first accomplishment is completing my Jackson 5 record collection! This makes me extremely happy.

I have all of Michael's solo albums with the exception of Blood on the Dance Floor🤞🏾. I will put them all together next! In the meantime, I've been slowly gathering vintage magazines from Ebay. I definitely want all the Michael covers I can get, but I also want to get general vintage magazines that speak to me too!
Eating
I started a new Valentine's tradition and I want to find a way to keep it going year-round. This candy salad has been loved by all, and I even bought extra candy to keep some for myself. I loveeee gummy candy, especially red and pink flavors. If you do too, try mixing different candies together, it takes everything up a notch😂.

Shopping
I have been thinking about getting an espresso machine for a while now. I did some searching to figure out the best one that is beginner friendly. I found the Breville Bambino in Home Goods, and thought it was time to give it a shot (no pun intended). It is definitely a learning curve, but I am taking the time to get used to using it. I can't wait to make better lattes and taste different flavor combinations.

And finally, I revisited Warby Parker after my subscription changed. I had the Sonia style saved for a long time, so I knew what I was looking for when I went in. But it's always fun to try on new glasses! I love the tortoise color way of these glasses, and the rectangular shape.

That's all for now! What have you been up to lately?
