2024 Christmas Tree and Holiday Decor

My Christmas tree has been up for a month now, but I needed to document it this December! If you love looking at other people's holiday decor, this post is for you.

One thing about me: I am a collector. I have been collecting ornaments for as long as I can remember. So if the tree looks cluttered to you, that's because it is! I would pick up ornaments from literally any store, including Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Target. I often find the cutest ornaments at Hallmark, especially if you are a pop culture fan. My favorite ornaments are ones I get on trips, and ones that have meanings to them.

Over the years, the majority of the ornaments I had didn't reflect who I am now. The ones that made me excited in middle school didn't fit how I wanted my tree to look today. By slimming down my collection, I was able to save space on the tree, and really let the meaningful ornaments shine. I also added the classic ball ornaments to fill in the gaps.

The bow trend was huge this year, and I joined in by making bows to go on the tree. I got some velvet ribbon, mini ornament hooks and got to work! There are so many bow tutorials on TikTok, but the easiest way for me was making two "bunny ears," and tying them together!

I like the extra shine tinsel adds to the tree. I also like it for the vintage feel!

The tree topper was the catalyst for the whole bow idea. I saw it on a TikTok of someone finding it at TJ Maxx, and that set off a weeks-long hunt. It reluctantly ended by buying it from a Poshmark seller, but I'm so glad we did it! Time will tell if I will use it next year, but this tree has been the best one I've put together.

I am also a big nutcracker collector. I just pick them up whenever I see a cute one out and about!

One more collection! These ceramic trees started catching my eye a couple years ago. My great-grandma had a tree from the 1960s in her attic, and she let me have it! It's pictured on the far left. Since then, I've wanted to have a forest of trees sitting on a credenza. I think it came out so cute!
